1914-15 Star (Pte W. H. Hockey Ntl. Light Hse.), very good fine

William Henry Hockey served with the Natal Light Horse from 17 February - 16 June 1915 in German South West Africa. After the conclusion of the campaign he transferred to the 7th South African Horse, being discharged due to an abscess of the thigh in December 1916. Undeterred Hockey re-enlisted with the 4th Regiment, 1st Infantry Brigade. He joined the Battalion in France on 11 December 1917, and suffered a gunshot wound to the face on 25 March 1918. Upon recovery he returned to his regiment and was killed on 6 July 1918 and is buried in La Kreule Military Cemetery, Hazebrouck; sold together with copied research including attestation and service records.
