Joe Fisher served with the 1st Battalion The Welsh Regiment in South Africa and is confirmed on the roll with the Queen's Medal and three clasps. He was recalled to the Colours for active service during the Great War, again with the Welsh Regiment. Landing in France in January 1915, Fisher was killed in action a little over one month later on 17 February; having no known grave, he is commemorated on Panel 37 of the Menin Gate Memorial. Sold with copied roll extracts and casualty details.
