(x) Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Johannesburg, South Africa 1901 (3904 Pte F. Arthurton, 16th Lancers), traces of verdigris, otherwise extremely fine

Francis Arthurton, a native of Southwark, London, attested for duty with the 16th Lancers on 9 October 1894. He served with the regiment at home, in India, and in South Africa (Queen's Medal & two clasps) before being discharged in April 1901, 'medically unfit for further service'; sold together with copied service record and medal rolls.
