Anglo-Saxon England, Secondary Series (710-760), Sceat, Series K, type 42, variety c, diademed and draped, bust right, smooth folds, wreath knot behind, cross pommée in palm before, rev. animal left looking back and upwards, rounding angled bush with buds and berries, trefoil tail straight over back, clawed feet below, 0.88g, 0° (Abramson, 2012a, Fig 18; 2012b, Fig 1a; SCBI 69, 442 this coin; Gannon 58-9, 67, 71, 72, 77, 131, 132-4, 139, 185, no. 31, and Figs. 2.38, 2.51b, 2.63, 2.74, 4.37a; North 101; MEC 8 Series Kc; North 101; Spink 803A), a tiny edge nick on reverse at 7 o'clock, and with light surface deposit on obverse, otherwise a most attractive example of this artistic type, almost extremely fine, extremely rare
