1891 (28 Aug.) envelope from Shanghai to Chefoo "pr S.S. Haeting" bearing Shanghai Double Dragon 5c. pink tied by bilingual "local post/shanghai" circular postmark and, on the reverse, Shanghai Local Post despatch c.d.s. and a good strike of Customs Chefoo type III c.d.s. (31.8) in blue.


A fine and important cover, this is believed to be the earliest of about ten covers from Shanghai sent via the Chefoo Customs post
