Japanese Post Office: 1896 (1 July) envelope to Iowa bearing second issue 1c. cancelled by a very faint strike of the Wuhu China c.d.s. with Japan 5s. Koban alongside, both cancelled by "shanghai/i.j.p.o." c.d.s. (2.7) and, on the reverse, another strike of the despatch c.d.s., Shanghai Local Post (2.7), Yokohama (9.7), Vancouver (21.7) and Iowa arrival c.d.s. The envelope was sliced open on the right side which has removed a piece of the Wuhu postage stamp
