1893 (20 June) Shanghai 5c. grey stationery envelope (E5) registered to Shanghai and cancelled on arrival by a fine strike of Shanghai Local Post c.d.s. (23.1) in dark blue, a second strike is on the reverse along with Hankow Local Post despatch c.d.s. in slate-blue. Although marked "Registered" and paying the 2c. postage and 3c. registration, there are no other registration markings. Early use of this envelope and quite possibly the only such registered item from Hankow
