Great Britain: Harbour of New Shoreham in Sussex, one share, 18- (date not competed in error but circa 1816), #150, handsigned by 5 commissioners, large format piece printed in black, on vellum. New Shoreham was established in Norman times. The mouth of the river was constantly moving and by 1816 it was decided to build a new harbour and to try to fix the position of the river so that it flowed between two piers. It became the largest port between Dover and Portsmouth along the South Coast. Reconstituted by the Shoreham Harbour Act of 1926. VF and rare [R10*].
