Germany: Berlin Phosphate Sewage and Manure Company Limited, £10 shares, 187[2], #344, scrollwork at left, black. Formed in conjuction with the Phosphate manure Company to acquire land and patents to treat the segage of the City. The board of directors consisted of 4 in London and 4 in Berlin including Dr. Julius Beer who was the Health Officer for the City and H.F.Eckart, Director of Works. Unfortunately the company got into financial difficulties due to the involvement of a Mr. Hartmont, alias Edward Hertzberg, a serial bankrupt leaving a trail of failed companies and loans in his wake. Two small ink stains otherwise F-VF and rare.
