Note: These patriotic cards were issued to commemorate Japanese capture of more countries, to assure those at home that the soldiers were happy and well fed, to send cards home of the beauty of the local scenery (especially Indo-China), iconic cards of life in Japan and to assure the people of the places being occupied that the Japanese were coming in friendship (often depicting children) to establish the Greater East Asian Co-prosperity Sphere.
