1869 a large albumen print photo of Royal Navy H.M.S. Galatea anchored in Victoria Harbour. Photographed by renowned photographer John Thomson. At that time, the Duke of Edinburgh was using this ship to visit Hong Kong. The ship was waiting at the pier of Pedder Street until the Duke of Edinburgh landed. Then sailed to Victoria Harbor to anchor, and then he met the clergy of Hong Kong on the ship few days later. This photo was also published in "Illustrations of China and Chinese" published in 1873. The photo at here, is the original photo in the album. The photo is mounted on a thin card. Although it has aging marks due to age, but it is still very precious. Photo size: 23 x 28cm
