1880s albumen print photo of "Three Chinese Women in a Cangue Shanghai" by William Saunders, photo framed on card, fine condition. Photo size: 20 x 27cm. Note: William Saunders (1832-1892) was born in Woolwich, London. He went to China as an engineer in 1860; when he returned to the United Kingdom to study photography, he returned to China again with photographic equipment. In 1862, a photo studio was opened in Shanghai, which captured many precious images of China's late Qing Dynasty. This is also one of the earliest photo studios in Shanghai.
