5c. to 10f., complete booklet of ten values in blocks of ten (5x2) each handstamped "specimen" in violet, with "specimens/of/supplemental/french postage stamps" on the cover. Just 36 booklets were handmade and produced for archiving purposes only; part of them were sent for approval to Algiers, where the French Committee of National Liberation was located. Stamps originating from the booklets sent to Algeria were used to produce philatelic souvenirs, and the few complete booklets which survived were preserved in the United States. Very fine, one of only two booklets recorded in private hands. Spink Maury E19, €33,000
