9d. bistre, abnormal plate 3, NG, unused with some gum which appears not to be original; well centred as usual. A very fine example of this very scarce abnormal, only thirteen unused examples have been recorded. S.G. 88, £32,000

This plate was never put to press and it is believed that two perforated trial sheets were distributed. It is thought that these sheets were run off at the same time as the imprimatur sheet. Of the unused examples, five have straight edges or reperforated and two are soiled. Stamp TE is reported as having been stolen
