De La Rue's previous suggestions proved unsatisfactory to the Governor and further designs with double lettering were forwarded on 30 October. On 7 April 1903 the Colonial Secretary wrote that design BB had been approved by the Governor subject to minor modification. This further design of 4 May was approved on 6 May when the original BB was returned, all values being in two colours
