Note: Sir Thomas Modyford was appointed Governor of Jamaica in February 1664. Under him the island was divided into Parishes.
Under his rule the island prospered though he was said to 'Council in the Kings Name' with pirates and buccaneers, particularly Sir Henry Morgan
