1d. study collection comprising 234 pairs largely formed of blocks of four or larger up to seventy-two, commencing with Waterlow marginal block of four and a pair, and a single used on 1 January 1926, the first day of issue, the remainder Pretoria printings including Issue 1 corner blocks of four with inverted watermark (scarce), a corner block of twenty-four with six stray perfs. in the left-hand margin, marginal blocks with proving control for Issue 1, four blocks of four with reversed perforations, two marginal blocks of six with double perforator strikes ; Issue 2 blocks of four with bedding screw marks, two marginal blocks of four with inverted watermark (scarce), corner blocks of four and eight with partial offsets, and a range of plate cracks associated with this issue; Issue 3 printed from new plates with the block of seventy-two, double and triple perforator strikes in margin, and blocks of ten from the four corners of the sheet and a marginal arrow block of fourteen, all five with inverted watermark, and a few Officials; many throughout with plate flaws, fine mint with many unmounted and a wonderful lot for the specialist
