1852 (Nov.) entire to Scotland endorsed "p Royal Mail Str. Queen of the South" and 1852 (Dec.) envelope to England with the second carried on the same sailing, the first return sailing under the second contract, both showing "general post office/cape town" handstamp, that to Scotland rated "4" (Cape charge) and "1/-" and that to England rated "8" (posted inland in the Cape) and "1/-", probably written by Thomas White Goodrich of the Cape Mounted Rifles on duty on the Cape eastern frontier.
