1840-44 entires (5) from the Cape to London, all rated "8" with one written by Revd, George Booth from Fort Beaufort and showing Crowned "general post office/cape of good hope" DLS4 and "ship letter" handstamp (S36), three others with similar Ship Letter handstamp (one in red), one conveyed by the master of the Knysna sailing for Cork with "cove/ship letter" (S2); and 1847 entire from Cape Town to London showing Crowned "general post office/cape of good hope" DLS4 and a late use of the framed "india letter/deal" (In1) and carried by the Planet
