Note: This error was first reported in the "London Philatelist" in July 1892 and was listed in the Stanley Gibbons catalogue in 1894. Although seven postally used examples are recorded, most exhibit doubtful Hobart bars cancellations obliterating the stamps to hide potential fiscal cancels. It has been estimated that about 25 examples of this error exist, the majority being fiscally used.
