1890 (12 Nov.) envelope (250x110mm.) registered from Sandakan to London, bearing 1886-87 1c. block of six and pairs (2, both on reverse), 2c. (9 including two pairs), 4c. (5, a pair on reverse), 8c. strip of four and 1889 3c. (5, a pair on reverse) and 5c. (5, three on reverse), all cancelled by 14 bar oval, showing red despatch and arrival (20.12) datestamps and, on reverse, framed "registered no" handstamp; some small faults and the envelope with vertical fold (crosses an 8c.) and with piece missing from top left corner. A most remarkable franking illustrating an eight times 14c. postage plus 8c. registration rate, which was introduced on 1 November 1886. Without doubt one of the finest commercial frankings from this period and a magnificient exhibition showpiece
