1836-39 entire letters (3) from Cape Town to London, variously rated, each showing Crowned "general post office/cape of good hope" oval datestamp with framed "india letter/liverpool" (crossed by filing crease), "india letter/cowes" in red (on reverse) and "india letter/portsmouth", also 1842 entire letter (faults) from Sir George Napier the Governor to Edinburgh, marked "H.M.S. Hyacinth", rated "8", showing similar oval despatch datestamp with, on reverse, part straight-line "ship-letter" and arrival datestamps
