1847 (Mar.) envelope from Ireland to Victoria Barracks, Sydney, carried by the “John Fleming”, rated “1/-“ and “3”, showing unclear despatch and London Paid (29.3) datestamps and, on reverse, “ship letter/sydney” arrival datestamp (26.7). On arrival the envelope marked “beyond the boundary” as the Barracks were at Randwick and outside the then city delivery area

Note: The “John Fleming” left Gravesend on 1 April and arrived in Sydney on 26 July, 116 days passage
