Note: Lance Bombardier was in the first party to leave Singapore for overseas and was sent to Saigon on 4 April 1942. This party of 1,123 British under the command of Lt. Col. Hugonin. They reached Saigon on 10 April. He was to spend his entire period of captivity in Saigon.
All POWs transferred to Saigon in 1942 were told not to date their cards and to write Camp 1 as the identifying camp.
