A group of letters and cards concerning the tracing of prisoners including 1942 (14 Mar.) letter from RASC Record Officer advising that soldier was serving in Malaya; 1942 (8 June) letter from British Red Cross informing that soldier is reported missing; 1943 (14 May) and (14 Aug.) letters from Infantry Records Office Warwick and British Red Cross advising that soldier was a POW; 1943 (21 Aug.) International Red Cross Geneva cards (4) with details as known; 1943 (Aug.) Catholic Times card, via Vatican Radio, notifying relative of British prisoner; and GPO printed instructions for communicating with prisoners. A fine lot illustrating the communication problems.
