A selection of 1840 May dates with A136 1d. envelope cancelled by red Maltese Cross, the address has been inked out, with a fair strike of London (13 May) c.d.s. on the reverse; A11, 1d. wrapper cancelled by a light strike of red Maltese Cross, to Wigan bearing a light strike of Warrington (16 May) c.d.s. on the flap; A23 1d. wrapper used in London, with straight-line Aylesbury St. and a fine strike of (22 May) datestamp on the flap; 1d. envelope to Bristol with a good strike of Wolverhampton c.d.s. (29 May) in red and, on the reverse, undated Albrighton circle. Soiled and creased to varying degrees. (4 covers)
