Note: Although the printed both sides error was recorded by Napier and Smith in 1894, the distinction between the red and blood-red shades was not made until publication by the "Australian Stamp Journal" in July 1921. It was listed in the 1917 Stanley Gibbons catalogue. Three examples are recorded, one being in the Royal Collection.
