1895-96 perf 12½, 13 ½d. dark green horizontal pair printed both sides, the second impression diagonally inverted. A rare mint pair showing the usual gum discolouration associated with this error. S.G. 209a, £550. Photo
Note: This error was first recorded in the "London Philatelist" in December 1901 and was listed in the 1908 Stanley Gibbons catalogue. One sheet was discovered with the second impression printed diagonally on the reverse. Although singles are common, the largest multiple appears to be this pair.
