Note: The first reference to this error was the appearance of this as an unused pair in the Pack sale in 1944. It subsequently appeared in a Robson Lowe sale in 1977 with a clear R.P.S. certificate dated 1970 (now lost) as unused. With higher resolution equipment available now, it appears that this pair has a light fiscal cancel removed. However, it does not detract from the appearance and rarity of this pair, being the only known example.
