A manuscript and postal group including 1900 (26 March) long ALS from Corporal T. Peter over four pages to his brother describing the capture of Cronje's army with comments on camp life and specifically the "Spiritual work here" thanking "God for His wonderful Blessing as many as 10 of my comrades were saved in one night ... if God was against us the Boers would soon defeat us"; also a fine photograph showing troopers with dogs sat on their gun carriage in the desert laid on card with some damage; included with several stamps on piece with various F.P.O and numbered post office c.d.s., 1900 S.A. Field Force cover, 1901 cover bearing 1d. pair, taxed and rated 10d. sent to Cape Colony from Field Marshal Paul Sanford Methuen, addressed and initialled by him, 1901 cover with blue 'prisoner of war / censor handstamp, 10/- Mafeking Siege Note, folded in quarters and a 1900 (2 April) 'The Mafeking Mail Special Siege Slip' page from paper.
