Polar Exploration
A small group of items (3) including a wonderful, undated prayer written on two sides of a small piece of paper almost certainly in Sir William Edward Parry's hand contained in near contemporary wrapper labelled "One of a series of Prayers, written by Captain Parry, and read to his crew daily during their Arctic Exploration". Also a picture postcard with polar bear scene from Polhavet bearing Norwegian 5 ore and 'polhavet' c.d.s. and cachet and printed message in four languages "This card will be carried by the 'Fram' across the Polar Sea and afterwards conveyed by post to the address" and printed Amundsen signature; and 1908 'british antarctic expedition 1907' postal stationery envelope sent from the Shackleton expedition to Wellington bearing 1908 block of four New Zealand 1d. ovpt. 'King Edward VIII / Land' cancelled by 'british antarctic expd' c.d.s. a few creases, otherwise good.
