Great Britain
Princess Louise, Princess Royal
1901 (24 Jan.) ALS on embossed mourning letter paper from Brighton to "Lepel", on the death of Queen Victoria writing "It's all so sad, and so sudden! We must ever miss her, and her dear memory will never die! We have been here quietly, and on Monday hope to join my dear parents in London. My beloved Mother was very tired after standing for hours holding my Grandmother's hand" ... "Indeed I feel for Miss Phipps what grief and loss for her, in the dear friend who was so good to all her people". A nice, personal letter.
