1804 (5 Aug.) military appointment on vellum appointing John Mitchcock as "Captain of a company in Our fifty ninth for the second Nottinghamshire Regiment of Foot Commanded by... Lieutenant General Alexander Ross. Signed "George R" at top, countersigned "Rob. Jenkinson" by then Secretary at War and later Prime Minister and [Lord] "Hawkesbury", 2nd Earl of Liverpool. With full wafer seal and £1, 10/- blue revenue stamp, some staining as to be expected.
