1805 (8 March) letter from Prince Eugene de Beauharnais to Marshal Berthier, initialled by Napoleon. Letter reads "I hasten to inform your Excellency that, by virtue of your orders, the various detachments of infantry left at the times indicated, and that I am leaving this morning with all the cavalry. I left Stupini the sixty chasseurs commanded by three officers, and the fifteen gendarmes with one officer. I have sent an officer to Milan, to the General Fontanelli the governor of the palace, to make sure of the billets for the Imperial Guard". Signed "Prince Eugene".
