1714/15 (22 Feb.) Document signed "George R" on vellum appointing John Owen an ensign in a company of the third regiment of foot guards, countersigned "Holles Newcastle" by Thomas Pelham-Holles, 1st Duke of Newcastle, then Secretary of State and "R. Arnold" by the Secretary at War. Document bearing 2/6d. vertical strip of three revenue stamps, some large stains obscuring some text and a little wrinkled.
