1680-1736, a group of printed receipts (14) of various kinds including signatures of Sir Henry Firebrace, George Hamilton, Earl of Orkney, Henry Grey, Earl of Kent, Richard Hampden and Arthur Onslow; including receipts for payment of window tax (1714), repayment of loans lent to the Crown, and a loan on credit of an Act granting William III duties on glasswares, bottle, coal &c. "for carrying on the war against France", one Naval (1718) being in receipt of £2,087 4/6d. as part of an order for "ten hundred thousand pounds" (£1,000,000 - an extraordinary sum) for the use of the Navy. Sold with interesting part printed document with unusual crested heading as an assignment by Edward Constant of Margate for £388 13/ 3d. for hire of the ship "True Love"
