1651 (5 Nov.) letter signed "O Cromwell" to Sir John Wollaston ordering payment "ont Major General Lambert the some of eighty two pounds for eighty two days pay as Major General". With later receipt of payment signed John Lambert "J Lambert". Rare bearing both signatures of Cromwell and Lambert. Document with good repair along edge, otherwise in good condition.

John Lambert in 1651 won an important victory in Inverkeithing for the English Parliamentarians giving Cromwell control over the Firth of Forth.
