1625 (8 Nov.) letter signed from Compton by means of recording the delivery to Lord Conway of "a great rich Jewell of gold called the Mirrour of Great Brittaine ... A fair Jewell in fashion like a feather of gold ... A faire flower of gold with three great Ballasses ... A great poynted diamond with the Collett taken from a Coller of gold ... A broken Coller of gold ... A Jewell of gold of the letter J.". An extraordinary list. Signed "Sp. Compton". Some staining and tears to the paper and laid onto page.
