"2½ pence" on 4d. grey marginal block of eight from the right of the sheet, the centre block of four variety surcharge double, fresh unmounted mint. A remarkable block and arguably the most important of all the Tobago surcharge varieties. B.P.A. Certificate (2007). S.G. 31, 31b, £14,000+

Note: Other than the vertical strip of four in the Royal Philatelic Collection and a block of four, vertical strip of three and pair, these are the sole recorded examples of the surcharge double variety that are known. The whereabouts of the other two possible examples are unknown
