1943 (30 Oct.) brown envelope registered to New York bearing 2/3 tr. dark blue block of six being the right half of the sheet from setting 2, cancelled by Gyantse type 2 postmark, with blue on white registration label with India 8a.3p. franking tied by Indian P.O. Gyantse c.d.s. and marks of censor seal at side (the tape enclosed in the cover), the reverse with further despatch c.d.s., Bombay censor handstamp and New York datestamps (29.2). There is a manuscript note on the address side in red ink, "Contents nil". Transit time of 121 days by surface mail whilst the Second World War raged. Photo
