China: Chinese Engineering and Mining Co. Ltd., certificate for 5 shares of £1, 19[30], #B42927, Britannia and miner with pagoda and junk in background, brown, printed by Waterlow & Sons, Capital £2,000,000, with coupons. Formed in 1912 to continue the work of coal extraction at the Kaiping Mines. Operations ceased after the 1949 revolution and the company finally wound up in the 1980's. Bottom edge a little uneven as usual, but VF-EF and scarce.
