Australia: Tasmanian Government Debenture, 1867, £100, #877, signed by the Governor, Colonel Sir Thomas Browne and also Thomas D. Chapman as Colonial Treasurer, large format, blue, stamped PAID. Chapman was a merchant who entered politics in the 1850's, becoming Colonial Treasurer and also Premier of Tasmania in 1862, a position which he held for 18 months. GVF and scarce.
