1919 'Hawker' 3c. brown signed 'J.A.R.' on reverse, used in combination with eight other contemporary adhesives totaling 26c. on Supplementary mail cover to the French Embassy in London, tied by St. John's, Newfoundland c.d.s. of 2 May, barred oval cancellations and a machine cancellation, Kingston-on-Thames c.d.s. to front and London W.C. c.d.s. to reverse; envelope slightly reduced at top and bottom and with light foxing not affecting stamps; a scarce and unusual usage of this classic Airmail stamp.
