People's Bank of China, an unissued proof for 2 yuan, 1975, printed on star watermarked paper. Obverse: Wang Jinxi, known as the 'Iron Man' at centre, a socialist hero in the early days the People's Republic who led the No, 1205 drilling team in Daqing Oil Field. Reverse: construction site in the Daqing Oil Field. The note displays fresh colours, sharp engraving and fine printing that clearly reflects the advanced banknote printing technology China possessed at the time. The design is innovative and reflects the social atmosphere at the end of the Cultural Revolution. (Pick not listed). PMG 62 Uncirculated (Note Unaffected by Mounting Selvage). Lovely fresh colours and with superb eye appeal. One of three to four known with auction prices in the region of USD$250,000 whenever offered in auction. An outstanding note which is a 'must have' item for the collector of PRC notes.
