W. with stops on truncation, rev. crowned shield on mantle, edge plain, 7.58g, 4h (Murdoch III, 440(b); Nobleman 205/6(a); Douglas-Morris 179; Bentley 24; W&R 261 [R3]; Marsh 11A; Spink 3829B), an evidently early or more probably original '1831 striking' with inverted die axes as customary for currency issues of the period, a stunning example with only a trace of scattered hairlines in otherwise gloriously brilliant fields all framing a striking high relief portrait with full cameo frosting, practically FDC
