George II (1727-1760), Five-Guineas, 1738 DVODECIMO, first young laureate head left, legend widely and irregularly spaced with small lettering, rev. crowned garnished shield, + DECVS • ET • TVTAMEN • AUUO • REGNI • DVODECIMO upwards on edge, 41.95g, 7h (Murdoch III, -; cf. King 166; Douglas-Morris 72, same dies; Schneider II, 561, dies 6/5; MCE 283; Spink 3663A), a nick to reverse rim at 11 o'clock, otherwise much mint brilliance, the reverse with attractive hues of reddish tone, good extremely fine, a most pleasing example, and an evidently rarer date in high grade as wanting from the Murdoch cabinet
