Herbert Schneider in his article for the Spink Numismatic Circular (February 1957, pp. 43-55) records this die combination from only one example that he traced through the Dominic Mitchell dispersal (Glendining, 27 April 1949, lot 97). A further example surfaced through the Douglas-Morris collection in 1974, and has recently reappeared in the London market place (SR, 25 September 2018, lot 79). Evidently the seven-string harp die for 1738 remains particularly elusive.
