(g) Elizabeth II (1952-), Proof Two-Pounds, 1994, a mule with the Double-Sovereign issue, thereby omitting two pounds from the obverse design, rev. '300 Years of the Bank of England' (S.4314A), brilliant uncirculated, a very rare error, in Royal Mint case of issue, with Certificate of Authenticity, no. 0314

It is not known precisely how many of these intended 1,000 gold Proofs were issued before the Royal Mint noticed the error and requested original purchasers return the coins for a correctly-struck replacement. However general thought is that no more than 400 pieces entered circulation, this evidently being one of the last pieces to do so before the mistake was realised. In recent years, only three examples have been traced by this cataloguer, the most recent appearing in New York, in April 2019 ($3,300 HP)
