Edward III (1327-77), Groats, Pre-Treaty Period, Tower (2), Series B, 4.21g, 11h, similar to last, reads edwar and hyb (LAL 5/4; Doubleday 358/355; N.1142; S.1563), clean tone, ragged edge at 12-3 o'clock, indentations in obverse field to right of bust, otherwise nearly very fine; and Series B/C mule, Tower, 4.40g, 3h, m.m. cross 1, annulet stops, rev. 'Lombardic' m (LAL 2; Doubleday 373 same obverse die; Stewartby IV (B/C), 1089a: N.1142/1147; S.1563/1565), soft in parts and stress marks from past creasing, traces of lacquer, otherwise a bolder fine (2)
