(x) India General Service 1895-1908, 3 clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Samana 1897, Tirah 1897-98 (58605 Gr. D. Thornton. I.M.B. R.A.), good very fine

David Thornton was born in 1868 at Dundee and enlisted in the Royal Artillery at Leith Fort on 13 December 1886, at that time a farm servant also serving in the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, Royal Highlanders. Having served in India from 24 January 1893-28 January 1899, he went on campaign with No. 9 Mountain Battery (Medal & 3 clasps); sold with copied Service Record.
